Susannah Ward, LCPC

Susannah (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and trained art therapist who believes that we all have the capacity to create meaning from our experiences and shape our lives with intention.

Susannah works with children, pre-teens, teens, and adults, and is passionate about offering space for healing and growth through both conversation and creativity. She supports clients navigating a range of concerns including anxiety, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges.

Susannah takes a thoughtful, flexible approach that meets each client where they are, blending traditional talk therapy with creative expression through art-making. Susannah draws from several therapy models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), integrative therapy, and art therapy to help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that feel natural and empowering.

Susannah is passionate about creating an inclusive, affirming space for all clients. She has experience working with individuals impacted by substance use, dementia, and other neurodegenerative conditions. She is also deeply committed to social justice and spends time supporting causes and communities that align with her values.

Originally from Columbia, Maryland, Susannah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from The Catholic University of America and her Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She worked in a variety of clinical settings in Chicago for seven years, including inpatient hospitals, public schools, community mental health programs, and private practice.

Outside of the therapy room, Susannah enjoys making art, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and playing soccer. She also loves spending time with her family, friends, and her three pets: black lab Luna, bluetick hound Koda, and cat Rei.
